Why should you consider moving to the cloud?

Tony HeadshotThe “cloud” continues to dominate the news related to Information Technology (IT). Not only in IT publications, but in many other venues as well. USA Today and Forbes both had articles related to moving to the cloud in the last month.

Why should you consider moving to the cloud? Let me give you three reasons:

1) You’re already there: If you get email, you are already using the cloud and have been for some time. All email moves through various cloud providers. It doesn’t matter if you only access your email in your office or if access it remotely through a computer or your phone. You are using the cloud.

2) It’s safer and more reliable: Cloud services are housed in remote servers, servers that have the best security systems available, and which are always being updated with the latest updates. The data centers these servers are in typically have redundant power and network connectivity. They don’t go offline when there is a storm or power outage.

3) It’s affordable: When you look at the benefits of what the cloud brings to an organization, you can’t build and support it internally for the same expense. In most cases, it will cost you more.

With all of the reasons to move to the cloud, there are still some situations where it doesn’t make sense. The key is to find a partner that can help you determine if it makes sense for you or not. Karpel Solutions has helped thousands of users migrate to the cloud when it made sense. We are a certified Microsoft Cloud partner. If you are wondering whether a move to the cloud makes sense for you, give us a call. We would happy to help think through it. We look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks and enjoy this month’s newsletter.
