Security, a topic we are seeing in the media a lot these days. We hear about the large retailors that have breaches. Adidas, Macys and Sears have all made announcements of breaches this year. What we don’t hear about is the number of Small Medium Businesses (SMB) that have suffered an attack.

Last month we discussed the importance of getting your budget created. We have a few things related to that to make you aware of this month.
First, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) now allows small and medium-sized businesses to deduct 100 percent of the cost of new equipment up to $1 million.

With the end of summer comes everyone’s favorite time, preparing budgets for next year. Okay, that’s not my favorite thing to do either, but it is an important process for businesses to complete. One thing to remember is that Microsoft’s extended support for Windows 7 and Server 2008 end in January 2020. You should plan on replacing any devices or servers running this software in 2019.
Something else to consider is reviewing your current network security status.
